Project Case| 64m² Elevating 3D Transparent Display Illuminates a Korean Wedding Hall

At the Le Vi Fore Wedding Hall in Suwon, South Korea, FILMBASE installed a approximately 64-square-meter glasses-free 3D transparent display system. Combined with a custom-designed lifting mechanism, this system integrates the large-scale display with the wedding hall’s existing high ceilings and natural lighting.

The installation consists of a central main screen of approximately 40 square meters and two auxiliary screens of approximately 12 square meters each on the left and right sides, all mounted within the wedding hall’s approximately 12-meter-high space. Through ceiling-mounted brackets and a wire-driven lifting system, the screens can be raised or lowered according to event requirements, allowing them to be either displayed or concealed.

Project Requirements: A large screen while maintaining a sense of space

The Le Vi Fore Wedding Hall features a ceiling height of approximately 12 meters and large floor-to-ceiling windows, making natural light and a sense of openness integral to the space. At the same time, wedding ceremonies require a large display area to showcase wedding videos, live footage, and themed visuals. If traditional fixed LED screens were used, they would easily obstruct the view from the back and block natural light, while also permanently occupying the wedding hall’s primary visual space. However, without a large screen, it would be difficult to meet the demands of modern weddings for on-site visual effects and ceremonial ambiance. Therefore, the challenge for this project is clear: to meet the need for a large display area while preserving the wedding hall’s original spatial dimensions and sense of openness as much as possible.

Solution: 64-square-meter naked-eye 3D transparent display solution + elevating structure

Taking into account the spatial constraints of the wedding hall,FILMBASE implemented a glasses-free 3D transparent display system and customized a lifting mechanism to accommodate the venue’s ceiling conditions.

The entire display system consists of three screens: a central main screen measuring approximately 40 square meters, and two side screens, each measuring approximately 12 square meters, for a total display area of approximately 64 square meters. All three screens are raised and lowered as a single unit via a Wire lifting system, allowing their positions to be adjusted according to the needs of weddings and other events.

The transparent 3D display eliminates the obstruction of the space behind it caused by traditional opaque screens, allowing viewers to maintain a visual connection with windows, architectural features, and natural light while content is being displayed. The lifting mechanism further resolves the issue of display equipment occupying space on a long-term basis.

One Room, Multiple Scenes: Switch Between Light and Shadow at Will

As the wedding ceremony began, a 64-square-meter naked-eye 3D transparent display film slowly rose to its preset position, forming a complete, expansive visual surface. The central main screen displayed the core visuals, while the secondary screens on either side extended the boundaries of the image; visual content could be customized to match the wedding theme.

Wedding videos, real-time footage, and themed dynamic effects could all be presented through this display system, creating an immersive visual atmosphere for the couple’s entrance, the ceremony proceedings, and on-site interactions.

During the day, the 3D transparent display screen lowers without blocking natural light, preserving the banquet hall’s original 12-meter-high ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and spatial lines; at night, when the ceremony begins, the 3D transparent display screen rises to blend into the soaring space, allowing the atmosphere to shift on demand based on the projected content. This combination of transparent display and lifting system endows the venue with exceptional versatility, allowing it to adapt flexibly to the couple’s preferences and wedding style, reshaping the space’s character to create a unique atmosphere tailored to each couple’s ceremony.

High-Transparency Display, Minimizing Visual Obstruction

Media Film allow viewers to see through the screen while displaying content, preserving some of the visual context behind the screen. Compared to traditional opaque LED displays, they are better suited for scenarios that require natural light and a sense of openness, such as floor-to-ceiling windows, glass curtain walls, and open spaces.

Ultra-thin Screen Body (Approx. 2 mm)

This project utilizes an approximately 2 mm-thick, naked-eye 3D transparent display film, which not only meets display requirements but also facilitates the integration of large-area screens with suspended and lifting structures.

Three-Screen Configuration to Meet Diverse Display Needs

The central main screen and the left and right auxiliary screens feature a modular layout, allowing for flexible image combinations and visual compositions based on different content. This enables the display system to adapt to various usage scenarios, such as weddings, banquets, and events.

Customized Structure to Fit the On-Site Space

Taking into account the 12-meter ceiling height and on-site ceiling conditions,FILMBASE tailored the screen dimensions, installation methods, and lifting mechanisms to the project’s specific requirements, ensuring the display system seamlessly integrates into the existing architectural space.

This project presented multiple construction challenges, including working at heights of approximately 12 meters, construction during the intense heat of midsummer, wiring in confined ceiling spaces, and the installation and commissioning of lifting mechanisms. These challenges placed high demands on the installation of the display panels, wiring connections, and system commissioning. In response to the on-site conditions, the project team scheduled continuous night shifts to complete the panel assembly, structural installation, wiring layout, lifting system commissioning, and overall system integration testing.Throughout the project, the R&D and manufacturing team at the Shenzhen headquarters collaborated closely with the local on-site team in South Korea. They conducted timely technical assessments and addressed issues based on on-site conditions, ensuring the project was delivered on schedule.

Based on visitor flow and exhibition content, the display system can be brought into the main visual area when needed and retracted from the space when not in use.

Combined with structural solutions such as lifting and suspended mounting, this approach provides more flexible display options for stage backdrops, exhibitions, and brand events.

The Le Vi Fore project represents a practical application of FILMBASE’s naked-eye 3D transparent display technology in a wedding hotel setting. From product selection and structural adaptation to on-site installation and system debugging,FILMBASE tailored the design to the project’s architectural conditions, display requirements, and intended use.
